September Reset

By Sarah Yurch | July 25 2023 | NonfictionReference

In You’ve Got Mail, Meg Ryan waxed poetic about the coming of fall and the attendant romance of “a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils.” Even for folks whose school days are long behind them, the back-to-school season can provide a bit of motivation or excitement. With summer vacations over and the holiday crush not yet underway, many use September as a time to declutter, get organized, or commit to other changes.

This is borne out in the data as well: after January, September sees the highest sales of planners. Budgeting books also get a boost during the final weeks of summer. Some also take a September reset to recommit to a health regimen, change up a routine, or get out of a rut.
