Malcolm MacPherson (1943–2009) was an American correspondent for Newsweek and the author of more than a dozen fiction and nonfiction books, including The Cowboy and His Elephant: The Story of a Remarkable Friendship, Hocus POTUS, and the bestselling Roberts Ridge: A Story of Courage and Sacrifice on Takur Ghar Mountain, Afghanistan.
